Travel advice: some regions are off-limits. Check your government’s advice for the exact areas before you book.

Kenya practically invented the safari. The Masai Mara is one of the best places on earth to see big cats, and from about July to October the Great Migration arrives from Tanzania. Add Amboseli, Laikipia’s conservancies and a beach finish at Diani or Lamu. Areas near the Somali border are off-limits under most advisories.

Did you know? Nairobi is the only capital city in the world with a national park full of lions, rhinos and giraffes within its limits.
